Why Impact Northeast?
A Word from
Reginald McDonough,
Impact Northeast Coordinator
Some years ago Cecil and Susan Ray wrote a book entitled Cooperation: The
Baptist Way to a Lost World. The book gives a detailed account of
Southern Baptist methods and organization for cooperative ministry. While the
details are important, perhaps their most important contribution is that they
captured in the title the ethos of Baptist mission: commitment to sharing the
gospel and cooperative efforts. Baptists always have been and I pray always
will be committed to working together to proclaim the gospel in word and deed.
This commitment to sharing the gospel and
working together is the heart of Impact Northeast. Southern Baptists in the
Northeast are passionate about helping the people of their region to have a
personal faith in Jesus Christ. Their brothers and sisters in the more
established Baptist state conventions across the South are equally passionate
about helping them achieve their mission.
My vision for Impact Northeast is that we will
effectively link our passions in the service of Christ. Impact Northeast allows
Baptist Christians from different regions of the country to work side-by-side,
to learn from one another, and to advance the Redeemer’s Kingdom together. As
coordinator I want to be used by God to facilitate this interactive process. You
can participate by becoming knowledgeable, praying and joining a volunteer
ministry team. Contact your state convention partnership mission’s director.
